Telling the full story…
Since 1944, the Patrick Henry Memorial Foundation has restored, maintained, and shared with the public Patrick Henry’s last home and burial site, along with the histories of Indigenous peoples, enslaved and free African Americans, and the Henry family. Today, the foundation preserves the intertwined stories of all who lived and labored here for over 2,500 years.
After acquiring Red Hill from Lucy Gray Henry Harrison, the last Henry descendant to reside on the estate, the foundation has safeguarded nearly 1,000 acres of pastoral landscape and 3,000 historical artifacts, ensuring these diverse legacies endure.
